Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913, on the campus of Howard University by twenty-two collegiate women. These women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to persons in need. Each year our organization recognizes hundreds of students across the nation for their scholastic achievements. The Knightdale-Wake Forest Alumnae Chapter has awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to students in need in Wake County. If you are or know an outstanding student meeting the criteria for one of these scholarships, please click the link to apply. Applications are due April 30, 2018.
$1,000 awarded to a current, African American student attending Shaw University, St. Augustine’s University, or North Carolina Central University, with a GPA of 2.75 or above.
$1,913 awarded to a current, African-American, female high school senior, entering college/university with at least a 3.5 or equivalent unweighted GPA.
